Oklahoma Housing Market Remains Strong!

Here is the article posted in The Oklahoman on 02/14/2008. Oklahoma's housing market is, has, and should stay strong! Call me now for your market analysis and possibilities. Also, with a drop in interest rates, now is a great time to buy as well!  A summary of the article and source link is below:

"The average sales price for an existing home rose last year 4.24 percent compared with 2006, from $143,669 to $149,758, the Oklahoma Association of Realtors said during its annual membership conference at the Oklahoma History Center... "National housing news is not Oklahoma's housing news," McCullar said."

"Last year was the seventh year in a row that the statewide average home sale price increased, the Realtors said. Since 2000, home values in Oklahoma have increased 4.88 percent per year on average — or an increase of about 40 percent over the seven years."

"The average price in Oklahoma rose even as sales slowed, dropping 3.16 percent, to 52,170 transactions, from a record 2006. Last year was the third highest year for home sales in Oklahoma on record, the Realtors said."

"The housing industry in some parts of the country is facing some serious challenges, (but) today's report underscores the fact that home ownership in Oklahoma continues to be an affordable, stable and secure investment,” McCullar said. "Homeowners across the state should be confiden(t) about the value of their homes.”
